Tsinghua University Institute for Sustainable Development Goals Is Officially Inaugurated; UN Secretary-General Expresses Congratulations
In response to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Tsinghua University established the Institute for Sustainable Development Goals, the first interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral, cross-departmental and multidisciplinary research institute on SDGs in China, to strengthen scientific research, talent training, international cooperation and exchange in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to accelerate China's sustainable development, and to contribute to global sustainable development with Chinese perspectives and experiences.
On May 14, 2017, on the occasion of the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit in Beijing, the inauguralceremony of Institute for Sustainable Development Goals and Academic Forum on "Belt and Road and Global Sustainability" was held in the main building of Tsinghua University.

On the day, Tsinghua University and the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.Mr.Bambang Brodjonegoro, the Minister of National Development Planning Indonesia, sent a congratulatory letteron the establishment of the Institute.
