On the morning of May 14, Sheila Schueller, Lecturer & Academic Program Specialist of School for Environment and Sustainability, University of Michigan (SEAS); Edward Waisanen, Multimedia Projects Manager at Michigan Sustainability Cases of SEAS, Zhu Zeng, Platform Manager, and a group of students from the University of Michigan visited Institute for Sustainable Develipment Goals, Tsinghua University (Tsinghua SDG Institute). Zhu Xufeng, Associate Dean of School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University and Executive Director of Tsinghua SDG Institute, and Peng Si, Research Assistant of Tsinghua SDG Institute, attended this meeting.
During the meeting, Zhu Xufeng briefly introduced Tsinghua SDG Institute's development, functions and positioning, research directions, academic research, etc., and showed its diversified projects and activities in talent cultivation, including the case competition with SDG as the core research, the training programmes for Indonesian government officials, and the dual Master's Degree Programme in Public Policy for Sustainable Development (MPP- SDG).
Sheila Schueller then introduced the Multi-Purpose Case Platform "Gala" operated by the Sustainability Cases Center of the University of Michigan, and shared the original intention, concept and operational experience of the platform. She emphasised that the platform, as a collaborative research platform for multimedia teaching cases, covers climate, environment, energy and other sustainable development related fields, and aims to provide an open access learning tool for students and teaching staff.
Finally, the two sides looked forward to more cooperation and communications in the field of sustainable development in the future.
