On the afternoon of November 21, 2019, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the Institute for Sustainable Development Goals of Tsinghua University (TUSDG) co-hosted “Meet SDGs” High-End Forum No. 5 – International Collaboration in the Age of the Sustainable Development Goals in the hall on the first floor of the School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University (SPPM).
Nikolai Astrup, Minister of International Development at the Royal Norwegian Emabssy, Wu Hongbo, Former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Co-Director of TUSDG, and Sir Danny Alexander, Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, delivered speeches around the Sustainable Development Goals.
Xue Lan, Professor of SPPM, Co-Director of TUSDG, and Dean of Schwarzman College chaired the forum.
Jiang Xiaojuan, Dean of SPPM, member of the 13thNPC Standing Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Social Development Affairs Committee of the NPC, and former Deputy Secretary General of the State Council delivered her opening remark. Zhu Xufeng, Professor and Associate Dean of SPPM, Executive Director of TUSDG, joined the forum along with hundreds of audiences.
Following the speeches, four speaker answered questions raised by the audience about the Sustainable Development Goals, foreign aid, and green investment. By the end of the forum, Jiang Xiaojuan, Xue Lan, and Zhu Xufeng thanked Nikolai Astrup on behalf of SPPM and TUSDG for his visit to Tsinghua, as well as the attendees of the event.
