Tsinghua SPPM Teachers and Students Conducted Practical Activities on Sustainable Development of PV Industry at JA Solar Ningjin Base
On 22nd October, teachers and students from School of Public Policy and Management (SPMM), Tsinghua Univeristywent to JA Solar's Ningjin base to carry out a practical activity on the sustainable development of the PV industry. The activity was organised by the China Case Center for Public Policy & Management of SPMM and TUSDG, with the support of JA Solar Technology Co. In the morning, accompanied by Li Jing, Head of Carbon Management and Sustainable Development Department of JA Solar, teachers and students of the college went to Fengzhuang PV plant of Ren County of JA Solar to learn about the working principle and operation of PV plants, as well as the win-win model of complementing agriculture and PV industry. In the afternoon, teachers and students first visited JA Solar's Ningjin base showroom and PV cell 5G intelligent production workshop. Afterwards, teachers and students went to the conference room to listen to the lectures and communicate with each other. The participating leaders and expert engineers answered the students' questions on the conversion efficiency of PV cells and land occupation, the layout of energy storage, the cooperation between enterprises and social organisations, and the challenges of internationalisation of enterprises. This practical activity provided an opportunity for teachers and students of the college to have a close understanding of China's leading photovoltaic enterprises, advanced photovoltaic technology, battery production process and the new mode of ‘agriculture and solar energy complementary’, which enabled them to have a three-dimensional, comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the development history, application scenarios and future prospects of the photovoltaic industry.
