On 6 September 2022, an expert seminar on ‘Climate Change Cooperation and Governance for Sustainable Development Goals’, hosted by Institute for Global Sustainable Development, Tsinghua University (TUSDG), was successfully held online. Professor Xue Lan, Director of the TUSDG and President of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University, attended and delivered a speech. Keynote speeches were delivered by Sun Zhen, First Class Inspector, Department of Climate Change Response, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Huang Jing, Vice President of the China Society for Sustainable Development (CSSD). Janos Pasztor, Executive Director of the Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative, Oliver Geden, lead author of Working Group III of the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report and core member of the Synthesis Report writing team, Maarten van Aalst, Maarten van Aalst, Professor at the Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente, Inés Camilloni, Professor at theCenter for Atmosphere and Ocean Research (CIMA), University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Chen Ying, Director of the Research Centre for Sustainable Development, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, spoke on climate change governance and related technologies. The seminar was moderated by Zhang Jianyu, Executive Director of the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC), and featured in-depth exchanges and discussions on carbon dioxide removal, solar radiation intervention and other technologies, as well as global cooperation and governance of climate change. Also attending the seminar were Fang Li, Chief Representative of WRI China, Guo Jiaxu, Assistant Researcher of the Global Environment Division of the Administration center for China’s Agenda 21, Jiang Tong, Dean of the School of Geographical Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology; Yang Lei, Associate Dean of the Institute of Energy, Peking University; Ping Zhong, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Working Committee of the CSSD; Zheng Qi, Outreach Officer of the Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative, Zheng Yi, Head of the Office of TUSDG, and Zhao Shiyuan, Programme Assistant of TUSDG.
