PNAS Article| Wang Can, Vice Director of TUSDG Revels the Perceived Effectiveness and Hidden Inequity of Postpandemic Fiscal Stimuli

Wang Can, Professor of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, and Vice Director of the Institue of Sustainable Development Goals, Tsinghua University (TUSDG), has assessed the economic and employment impacts of different stimulus packages in 26 countries in the post-pandemic era, and revealed the trade-offs between low-carbon, efficiency and equity in the stimulus packages, which provides decision-making support for the development of greener and more inclusive stimulus packages in order to synergize with the response to the recovery, equity improvement, and climate change mitigation. On April 25, the research results were published online in the prestigious international journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS) under the title of "The perceived effectiveness and hidden inequity of postpandemic fiscal stimuli".

Prof. Wang Can's group has been working on the economics and policy of climate change, energy-environment-economy system simulation, and cross-system impact assessment for climate change mitigation. This research is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program of China.
