From 1 to 3 July, the 13th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of World Economic Forum (Summer Davos) was held in Dalian, China. The theme of the Annual Meeting was "Leadership 4.0: The Way to Success in the New Era of Globalisation". More than 2,000 political and business leaders, experts and scholars from more than 80 countries attended more than 200 sessions. Zhu Xufeng, Professor and Associate Dean of School of Public Policy & Management (SPPM) and Executive Director of TUSDG, was invited to attend the conference and delivered speeches in the "IdeasLab" and "Ask About" sub-forum.

On the morning of 2 July, Premier Li Keqiang attended the opening ceremony of the 2019 Summer Davos Forum in Dalian and delivered a special speech. Premier Li Keqiang said "The Summer Davos Forum has been held in China for 13 years. When the Summer Davos Forum was first established, a new round of industrial revolution was emerging, the pace of globalisation was accelerating, and new industries, technologies and business models were emerging.

On the afternoon of 2 July, "Ideaslab: Championing Climate Science in China with Tsinghua University" was held at the Dalian International Convention Centre, Zhu Xufeng, Associate Dean of Tsinghua University's SPPM and Executive Director of TUSDG, delivered a keynote speech on "Local Pilots: China's Sustainable Development Strategy".

The sub-forum was moderated by Isabel Hilton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of China Dialogue, and was also attended and speeched by Tong Dan, Associate Researcher of Earth System Science Research Center, Tsinghua University, which attracted a large number of audience members to participate in the discussion with their fascinating speeches.

"IdeasLab" is an important series of sub-forums at the World Economic Forum in Summer Davos, focusing on showcasing and exchanging cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements and innovative concepts, and providing the audience with the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas with the guest speakers, which is the longest sub-forum in Summer Davos. World-renowned universities such as Nanyang Technological Institute of Singapore and Carnegie Mellon University also organised lectures on different topics during the same period.

Afterwards, Zhu Xufeng, Associate Dean of SPPM, Tsinghua University and Executive Director of TUSDG, spoke at the "Ask About" sub-forum and discussed new ideas and insights on climate change and sustainable development in China with the distinguished fellows.
