On October 22, the opening ceremony of the"Co-Class Programme – Industrial Internet of Things(IIOT)" training course, jointly organised by TUSDG and the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of Indonesia, was held at the School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University(SPPM).
Ms. Indira P Baheramsyah, CEO of United in Diversity; Ms. Teng Liman, Director of the School of Continuing Education, Tsinghua University; Meng Bo, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs, Tsinghua University; Zhu Xufeng, Deputy Dean of SPPM; and Qin Qin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs of SPPM, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremoy was presided over by Xu Zhen, Programme Manager of International Programmes of the SPPM, Tsinghua University.
Opening Ceremony
Forty-three government officials from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of Indonesia and other ministries, university managers, and mid-/senior-level company managers will attend a week-long training from October 22 to October 26. The theme of this training is "Industrial Internet of Things". It aims to analyze the institutional construction of China’s IIOT, and share the experience of development strategies, technological applications, and innovations of China’s IIOT.
In her welcome speech, Ms. Meng Bo introduced the history, culture and philosophy of Tsinghua University to the participants, and explained the history of cooperation between China and Indonesia in talent training. She pointed out that in October this year, Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center had laid the foundation on Kuro Island in Bali, Indonesia, which would further promote talent training and academic exchanges in Indonesia and the entire Southeast Asian region. The training was also a positive response to this call. In such a high-tech era where things were all connected, the industrial Internet of Things played a pivotal role in human development and civilization progress. Through the training, participants would further understand China's IloT strategy, application and innovation, and would jointly explore its sustainable development path.
Meng Bo
Professor Zhu Xufeng first introduced the development and vision of the SPPM to the participants, and further mentioned that based on the memorandum of cooperation signed by the Indonesian Ministry of Communications, United in Diversity Foundation and Tsinghua University, China would further strengthen the training of Indonesian high-level talents, especially in the fields of sustainable development, innovation of entrepreneurship and engineering technology. The "Industrial Internet of Things" training would promote the development and transformation of Indonesia's industrial system, Indonesia's capacity in the field of public policy and public management, and strengthen human resource construction.

Ms Indira P Baheramsyah also introduced the development of IIOT in China and elsewhere, and pointed out that China's industrial Internet of Things technology had developed rapidly and had been widely used, and its sustainable development was inseparable from institutional guarantees and policy regulation. To learn the strategic planning, practical application and innovative development of China's IIOT was the common expectation of the participants of this training course.

Representative of the participants, Director of the Standardization Division of the the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of Indonesia, Mr Mochamad Hadiyana also spoke on behalf of all the participants. He introduced Indonesia's current exploration in IIOT, emphasised the significance of the training and looked forward to this journey.
